Doing serious field work with his cousin Tru for the first time

Tru recently earned his JH hunting title, so he's a good one to watch

Tru flushed a quail right away, to give Becker an idea of what to look for.

We also came upon a kindly 14 yr. old vizsla who was more than happy to show him the ropes

Caesar was a veteran in the field, and held this point for about 10 full minutes.

Becker wound up flushing Caesar's quail.

After that, Becker had the idea. He and Tru both found the quail when it landed

He started finding birds all on his own. This was his first hard point.

And his second...

...and his third!

His eyes were absolutely locked with the bird's eyes here.

I even shot over him on this one and it didn't bother him a bit!

Some flashier points from the week before

On point at a duck

In a cornfield

Creeping to a point

Locked up

Nice tail set

Watching birds in the distance

Intensity

He loves this!

7/22/04: VCOI Double Bubble Fun Days

Becker finally got a chance to try some field work. Here he is at the vizsla fun-days returning from a locate-and-point contest.

Here he is waiting to be turned loose in the field.

We're waiting in line for another brace to be set off in the locate-and-point

This shot pretty much sums up the whole weekend! Dashing around in the brush, having a good old time.

This is Becker's good buddy and brace-mate in the first locate-and-point picture, Tru Love of Life CGC.
